Risk Watch

Risk Watch

You know that the best way to help your kids avoid cavities is to brush teeth. Your Lake Stevens police feel the same way about injury prevention: stop it before it happens.

Risk Watch is the first comprehensive injury prevention program available for use in schools. It gives kids (and their families) age appropriate skills and knowledge they need to create safer homes and communities.

When we say comprehensive, we mean it! Topics like bike & pedestrian safety, water safety, choking, suffocation, & strangulation prevention, prevention from falls, fire & burn, and poisoning. Too often we hear about kids being killed or injured by firearms or in vehicles from something as simple as no seatbelt. Not our kids! Risk Watch covers firearms injury prevention as well as motor vehicle safety.

Together, in partnership with the Lake Stevens School District and Lake Stevens Fire, the Lake Stevens Police Department proudly provides these classes to the youth of our community.

These topic areas represent the eight areas kids ages 14 and younger are at greatest risk to unintentional injury.
