City Administrator’s Office
The city administrator serves as the professional administrator of the city and is responsible for coordinating and directing all city operations, projects, and programs and administering all policies and laws adopted by the City Council on behalf of the mayor.

Implementation of the policies established by the City Council requires a close working relationship with the citizens, community organizations, the private sector, and other governmental agencies.

City Administrator Jan Berg
Ms. Berg was appointed as the city administrator in January 2007. Prior to accepting the position, Ms. Berg served as the director of finance for the City of Lake Stevens for the previous 10 years.

With more than 20 years of experience, she has served in both local and state government. She received her B.S. degree in Finance and Accounting from Central Washington University in 1985. She currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Lake Stevens Chamber of Commerce.
