POLICE DEPARTMENT
The Lake Stevens Police Department is committed to promoting and obtaining the highest ethical standard valuing honesty and integrity within our organization and community; to providing a safe environment, including policies and procedures which quickly and efficiently deal with any situation that place staff and public at risk; to personal and professional development and actively seek involvement and a shared sense of commitment and services at all levels; and to provide citizens of our community with quality service by being passionate, responsive and caring through a community based approach.
The Lake Stevens Police Department is a state accredited agency. The department built in 2005 houses 24 commissioned law enforcement officers and six civilian employees. The department is located at 2211 Grade Road.
ACCREDIATION
The Lake Stevens Police Department is a state-accredited agency under the Washington Association of Sheriffs and Police Chiefs (WASPC) program. Lake Stevens Police received its first accreditation in 1999 and re-accreditation in 2005.
The WASPC program is made up of 97 core standards and builds from there. The program increases agency effectiveness and efficiency in the delivery of law enforcement services; increases cooperation and coordination with other law enforcement agencies and with other agencies of the criminal justice system; and increases citizen and employee confidence in the goals, objectives, policies and practices of the agency.
The department's participation in this process sends a positive message to the community that the Lake Stevens Police Department is committed to providing services of the highest quality.
